"It's pronounced Sites"

Sharen J. Sitzes (pronounced "Sites") is a writer, suicide-loss survivor, behavioral consultant, and second-generation adult born into The Children of God — an internationally operating religious cult in which her earliest education was the study of human behavior under conditions most people will only ever read about.

    Sharen J. Sitzes

Born in Osaka-Sakai, Japan, she has spent a lifetime translating her trauma into something useful: first through survival, then through understanding, and now through the written word. She holds a Bachelor of Science in General Psychology from Capella University — a degree that gave formal language to experiences she had already lived from the inside. She works as a pro bono behavioral consultant and is building toward an independent practice at the intersection of psychology, forensic behavioral analysis, and applied ethics. A professional model and actress represented by Donna Baldwin Agency, one of Colorado's premier talent agencies, she has appeared in national campaigns including a Super Bowl spot for Bud Light and brand work with Masktini and Embassy London. She has built a life deliberately structured around independence, chosen community, and the daily practice of turning lived experience into something that matters.

A single fur mom of three pups, she has made her home in Boulder, Colorado — and she has made it with intention.

Weathered Turquoise, her debut poetry collection, was born from the grief of losing her father to suicide in 2016.

Your Kintsugi is Showing, her self-development memoir, is forthcoming.
